Qatar Open 2006

Well I haven’t written in my blog for a couple of days because I was busy with the Qatar Tennis Open 2006. It was a fantastic event and most of the famous players played. Such as Martina Hingis, Anastasia Myskina, Amelie Mauresmo, and so on. Some of the matches were a bore, but some of them really took you to the edge of your seat. Well unfortunately, Martina lost and she was knocked out of the competition. But she did play well. Next was Ai Sugiyama… a Japanese player that took the tennis by storm. She played her heart out and actually reached the semi finals, but lost to Petrova. Anyways it was the finals night… Petrova VS. Mauresmo. A game like no other… the score was close… the first set was 7, 6... second set 6,2… as Petrova took that game, everyone went up in a loud cheer… they were all screaming, “Petrova, Petrova”. She made the crowd go wild. None the less, even though Mauresmo lost, the crowd was also cheering for her. There were these bunch of people that were from France, who were constantly cheering for her good effort. Well now that Petrova won, here is what she got as a prize…
1. A solid gold Oryx as the first place winner
2. A cheque for 94,000$
3. a brand new Harley Davidson bike, as a complementary prize

Well that’s what she got… and our runner up just got a silver Oryx as a gift. Well that’s the game and this is what you get when you win…
